His mother wanted his sons to be independent sooner so she sent them off to live alone, that include Ryung. Ryung has been living alone since he was in middle school in a one room apartment that his parents bought for him. His academic was okay when he pursued art in his school days, but decided to open his own restaurant right after he graduated.

Ryung is a man with few words. He only had a few friends from high school and college. The reason why he opened his own restaurant is because he was always interested in cuisines and cooking. He has been taking cooking classes in between his college days. Though his food tasted more than okay, great even, his restaurant wasn't really well known. Well, he didn't need to worry about the income, since his family was actually wealthy to begin with. He took cooking seriously since it was the only thing he's passionate about. With his lover, he adopted a 10 year old son. His name is Chae Hwanhee. Unfortunately, his lover died in an unexpected accident. Now Ryung had to take care of everything alone despite still mourning for the death of his husband.

Mooni Restaurant opened right after Ryung graduated from university. It was a medium sized restaurant in a back alley of Seoul. The restaurant has semi open kitchen style and serve different menus every day, ranged from European food, Korean food to fusion food depends on the available ingredients. Customers could also request any menu, but within the chef's approval. Other than food, Mooni Kitchen has a good variety of beverages and retail products, too. Most of the customers are high school students from the school nearby or people who accidentally found the restaurant and became regulars. Restaurant opens from 12 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
